Cottage cheese cookie dough is our answer to edible cookie dough, which is usually butter, sugar and flour. This version keeps the part everyone wants, a sweet, thick dough full of chocolate chips, and builds it on blended cottage cheese and peanut butter instead.

How it comes together

The cottage cheese is blended first so the dough is smooth, then thickened with oat flour and vanilla protein. Peanut butter gives it the brown-sugar, buttery flavor that makes it taste like real cookie dough. Chilling for 20 minutes firms it up enough to scoop.

Make it your way

  • Lower calorie: use powdered peanut butter mixed with water instead of regular peanut butter (saves about 35 calories per serving).
  • Snickerdoodle: skip the chocolate chips and add 1 tsp cinnamon.
  • Birthday cake: add 1 tbsp rainbow sprinkles and use white chocolate chips.

Portion it into small containers and it becomes a grab-and-go afternoon snack with as much protein as two eggs.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Blend the cottage cheese until completely smooth, 60 to 90 seconds.
  2. Transfer to a bowl. Stir in the peanut butter, protein powder, maple syrup and vanilla until even.
  3. Stir in the oat flour. The dough will thicken as the flour absorbs moisture.
  4. Fold in the chocolate chips. Chill for 20 minutes for a firmer, scoopable texture.

Notes

  • Oat flour is safe to eat raw. Do not swap in regular all-purpose flour unless it has been heat-treated.
  • Store covered in the fridge for up to 4 days.

    Questions people ask

Is it safe to eat raw?

Yes. There are no raw eggs, and oat flour is made from oats that have already been heat-treated during processing.

Can I use almond butter instead of peanut butter?

Yes, any nut or seed butter works. Sunflower seed butter keeps it nut-free.
